Strategic Clarity in Action

Repositioning
IT as a Strategic Growth Partner

Global Consumer Brand | Enterprise Technology Strategy

“That was the clearest, most compelling annual strategy presentation we’ve ever heard from IT.”

— CEO, Fortune 500 Consumer Brand

The Moment

A global CIO needed to secure greater influence and investment for IT. While the organization was strong operationally, its strategy was perceived as fragmented and overly technical at the executive level.

The Challenge

Technology initiatives were communicated as project updates rather than a cohesive business narrative. Without a clear throughline, IT’s contribution to enterprise growth was undervalued.

The Shift

Over a three-year partnership, I worked alongside the CIO and technology leadership team to distill dozens of initiatives into a unified, business-facing strategy. We reframed IT around a clear enterprise-aligned narrative, introduced a unifying message and translated complex work into executive-ready presentations and internal communications.

The Outcome

  • Secured increased budget and headcount

  • Elevated IT’s credibility across the C-suite

  • Recognized in CIO Magazine for strategic clarity

  • Established a repeatable executive narrative used across global leadership forums

From Project Updates to Executive-Ready Strategy

North American Manufacturer | Divisional CIO Engagement

"This project changed how I show up with my peers and executive leadership."

— Divisional CIO

The Moment

A divisional CIO was encouraged to “improve executive presence.” In reality, the issue wasn’t presentation skills — it was strategic clarity.

The Challenge

Technology updates were delivered as disconnected project reports. There was no unifying narrative linking initiatives to business priorities, investment trade-offs, or long-term direction.

The Shift

In a focused engagement, I worked with the CIO to distill dozens of initiatives into a clear strategic architecture. We reframed the conversation around business outcomes, modernization priorities, and executive decision points — replacing system language with strategic intent.

The Outcome

  • Greater alignment with senior leadership

  • Increased investment confidence in the roadmap

  • Stronger executive presence for the CIO

  • A clear narrative to guide ongoing decision-making

Turning a Fragmented IT Function into a Unified Team with a Strategic Plan

Global Spirits Company | Enterprise Technology Transformation

"We've never been more energized to work in IT"

— Technology Team Member

The Moment

A newly appointed Global CIO inherited a culturally siloed IT organization with low business trust and no cohesive strategy. IT was seen as reactive — a collection of projects, not a strategic partner.

The Challenge

Leaders were executing well within their silos, but there was no unifying narrative tying their work to enterprise priorities. Communication was inconsistent. Confidence from the business was fragile.

The Shift

I partnered with the CIO and IT leadership team to
co-develop a business-aligned 3-year strategy. Through structured discovery, executive narrative architecture, and leadership coaching, we reframed IT from a delivery function into a strategic growth partner. The strategy was unveiled at a global transformation summit and cascaded through executive forums.

The Outcome

  • Secured budget for new talent and modernization initiatives

  • Increased executive alignment across regions and functions

  • Shifted perception from “order takers” to strategic advisors

  • Re-energized a distributed IT organization around a shared vision

Technology Product Narratives in Action

Translating breakthrough science into a story investors could understand

Cell Therapy | MIT Spinout | Series A Raise

I know our story inside and out. Then I listened to yours and I was completely hooked.

— MIT Founder

The Moment

An MIT spinout had developed a breakthrough platform for engineering human cells, but as the company prepared to raise capital the story was difficult for investors outside the field to quickly grasp.

The Challenge

The team explained the technology through highly technical descriptions of electromechanical gene delivery and cellular engineering. While scientifically impressive, the narrative made it difficult for investors to understand the strategic significance of the platform and why it mattered now.

The Shift

We reframed the company narrative around the bottleneck in cell therapy manufacturing — and positioned the technology as a platform unlocking scalable engineered cell therapies rather than simply a new research tool.

The Result

  • The narrative became the foundation for the company’s investor communications as it moved into its next phase of growth.

  • Oversubscribed Series A raise $30M
